New Release – It’s Not Christmas Without You

Our published authors in RWASD were very busy with holiday releases this year!

Today we’ve got another new novella to share today from our own HelenKay Dimon!!!

Back cover:

Carrie Anders officially broke up with Austin Thomas when she accepted a dream job in the city. Unofficially, she misses him and is tempted to sneak back to her West Virginia hometown to see him. That’s why this year, she’s not going home for the holidays. Her heart can’t take any more mornings-after where nothing has changed—and Austin has made it clear he’s not interested in relocating.
Austin’s been waiting for Carrie to realize she can’t live without him. But when he hears she’s not coming home for Christmas, he decides to take action. If Carrie won’t come to the country, he’s going to bring a piece of the country to Carrie—in the form of a Christmas tree lot just minutes from her apartment. He’s certain daily meetings will entice her to come home with him, this time for good.
Their attraction is as hot as ever, but with such contrary Christmas wishes, can either of them get what they really want this year?
It looks like a great read, and you can pick it up here….

New Release – Dulcie Crowder Gets Her Man

Hi Everyone –

Today was release day for another RWASD member, Sarah Richmond!

Sarah is a long distance member in Pasadena, but she hopes to return to us in San Diego soon!

Please help us celebrate her first release with Avalon Books! 🙂  Here’s Sarah…

My first book with Avalon Books, Dulcie Crowder Gets Her Man, is due to be released on December 15, 2011.
A trip to Placerville, CA (once called Hangtown) inspired the story of Dulcie and Tom, a town rich in the history of the American West and containing a wealth of colorful characters, old and new. I’d been wanting to explore the gold rush towns ever since reading Isabel Allende’s book, Daughter of Fortune.
A visit to the Placerville Historical Museum on Main Street gave me the historical details needed to make a story come alive. The museum is in one of the few buildings that survived the fires of the 1850’s.

The Placerville street scene shows a rough and tumble mining town. I’m excited about a Western in development for television this fall called ‘Hangtown’.
The book is available at Amazon.com;barnesandnoble.com, and avalonbooks.com
Congratulations Sarah on the new historical romance release!

New Release – Christmas on Nutcracker Court

RWASD is excited to feature another new Christmas release from our own Judy Duarte!!!

Judy is also offering a giveaway, so be sure to leave a comment! 🙂

Here’s Judy….

The weather outside is frightful…

But inside my house, where it’s warm and cozy, I’m ready to pick out the DVD of one of my favorite Christmas movies.

At this time of year, if you’re like me, you enjoy curling up on the sofa with a cup of hot cocoa or tea, watching movies like Miracle on 34th Street or It’s a Wonderful Life.

Even if your DVD player is on the blink, you can always turn to the Hallmark Channel, where some great, made-for-TV movies are sure to warm your heart and put you in the holiday spirit.

I especially like Christmas romances, like Holiday Inn, White Christmas and The Shop Around the Corner. My favorite, though, is Christmas in Connecticut—the original with Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan (1945), as well as the remake with Dyan Cannon and Kris Kristofferson (1992).

If you’d like to see a trailer, here’s a link:

http://www.videodetective.com/movies/trailers/christmas-in-connecticut-trailer/22

And guess what!  I just Googled that movie to make sure I had the correct release dates and the proper spelling of the names.  Imagine my surprise—and delight—to see that Jennifer Garner is scheduled to star in a 2012 remake.  So you can bet I’ll be standing in line to see it on opening day at the theater!

There’s just something special about those heartfelt holiday stories—either the ones on we see on television or those we read.

So it shouldn’t be any surprise that I have two Christmas releases out this year—one romance and an inspirational women’s fiction.

I’ll give three lucky people who comment and share their thoughts on the appeal of Christmas stories, either books or movies, an autographed copy of either A Baby Under the Tree or Christmas on Nutcracker Court.

So what do you think?  What are your favorite Christmas movies or books?  And why do those holiday stories hold such an amazing and timeless appeal?

New Release – The Playboy’s Gift

We’re pleased to welcome our chaptermate, Teresa Carpenter, to the blog today to tell us about her new Christmas release, The Playboy’s Gift

Here’s what Teresa had to say about the book…

Writing The Playboy’s Gift was a bittersweet joy. I always enjoy spending time with my characters, delving into their world, sharing in their triumphs and tribulations. But The Playboy’s Gift was special because it was the last of my Sullivan brothers series. I have a sister with seven girls and as a young writer I thought how fun to explore the romantic adventures of a large family. This led to the creation of the Sullivans of Paradise Pines.

The Sullivans are six brothers who suffered loss early in life yet with the help of their grandmother they’ve remained close and have built a strong family rich in tradition. Each story showcases one of the brothers finding his one true love. The Playboy’s Gift is Rett’s story. A reunion story with a secret baby twist, Rett goes from being a carefree bachelor in one moment to having an instant family in the next. And his co-guardian is the woman who broke his heart fifteen years ago. I invite you to enjoy Rett’s story as he rearranges his life to make room for the child and woman desperately in need of his love.

I’ll be happy to sign a copy for you at Barnes and Noble in Oceanside on 12/14/11 beginning at 6:30. Wishing you many hours of reading joy. Happy Holidays!

It looks like another great book to get you in the holiday spirit, or to wrap up and give to a friend…  There’s no better gift than a great story!

Please feel free to comment or ask questions for Teresa…  🙂

New Release – Romancing Rudy Raindear

Hi everyone –

RWASD has had so many new sales and new releases, that it’s tough to keep up with them all!  It’s exciting and inspiring to see so many of our chaptermates work being published…

This month we’ve got quite a few new releases, so we’re going to be showcasing the titles and authors.  I think we contacted all of our members with December releases, but if I missed you, please email LdyDisney at aol.com and let me know.  We’d love to host you and your book!

Okay, first up is a new eBook release from our own PAN Liaison…

I’ll let Mary tell you about the book…

This is my favorite time of year, and it was so much fun to write about Rudy and Jenny in the magical Christmas town of North Pole, Main where getting on Santa’s Naughty List just might be exactly what Rudy needs to bring the true meaning of Christmas back into his heart. This book is part of the Sexy Secret Santa anthology: Naughty St. Nick and Kissing Kris Kringle are also available now.
Oh, and as an added bonus, Romancing Rudy Raindear also contains one of my Aunt Stella’s most guarded recipes for Anise Cookies, a family favorite. Of course, dear Aunt Stella is no longer with us. She passed away several years ago at age 94, most likely while still clutching her secret recipes.  It gave me such joy to add one of them to my book… ho ho ho!
Love and Happy Holidays!
You can check out the book here… http://bookswelove.net/leo.php
Thanks for visiting the blog Mary!!!
